A 22-year-old woman who was raped and beaten in a bus by four people has asked the state government to send her a police complaint.
The incident took place in the suburb of Bhola, on the outskirts of Lucknow on Monday night.
Police arrested the accused and recovered two mobile phones from the bus.
According to police, the victim and her family members, who were not present at the bus stand, heard the bus pulling up to the bus stop.
“I asked the driver, ‘Why did you pull up there?’, said the victim’s mother.
He replied, ‘This is a private bus, and if you call for help, the police will come’, the victim’s brother-in-law told reporters.

While the accused were on the bus, the woman said she went to get her mobile phone.
She was then assaulted and beaten by the accused while her sister was in the backseat.
A neighbour, who witnessed the incident, also lodged a complaint with police.
Meanwhile, the accused are being remanded in police custody till January 31.
As a result of the rape, the girl’s mother is also in hospital.
