The amount of money you spend in California is often overlooked in comparison to its many other states.
But California’s per capita income is the highest of all 50 states and it is also one of the highest in the nation.
The state’s per-capita income is $28,871, which is slightly higher than the national average of $28.764.
In 2017, per-person California residents spent $6,917,826, which was nearly a fifth of the national $8,918,532 spent per person.
California is also the state with the highest number of adults with a college degree, at 19.4 percent.
